Obama’s spying scandal is starting to look a lot like Watergate

F.B.I. Used Informant to Investigate Russia Ties to Campaign, Not to Spy, as Trump Claims,” read the headline on a lengthy New York Times story May 18. “The Justice Department used a suspected informant to probe whether Trump campaign aides were making improper contacts with Russia in 2016,” read a story in the May 21 edition of the Wall Street Journal.

Trump signs executive order to stop family separations at border

President Donald Trump on Wednesday signed an executive order to allow children to stay with parents caught crossing the border illegally — moving to stop the family separations that have triggered a national outcry and political crisis for Republicans.  The measure would allow children to stay in detention with parents for an extended period of time. This comes as congressional Republicans scramble to draft legislation to address the same issue, but face challenges mustering the votes. In signing the measure, Trump said he wants to keep families together while also enforcing border security. He vowed his administration’s “zero tolerance” policy for illegal immigration would continue.

Yes, Hillary Should Have Been Prosecuted

I know this is ancient history, but — I’m sorry — I just can’t let it go. When historians write the definitive, sordid histories of the 2016 election, the FBI, Hillary, emails, Russia, and Trump, there has to be a collection of chapters making the case that Hillary should have faced a jury of her peers.  The IG report on the Hillary email investigation contains the most thoughtful and thorough explanation of the FBI’s decision to recommend against prosecuting Hillary. At the risk of oversimplifying a long and complex discussion, the IG time and again noted that (among other things) the FBI focused on the apparent lack of intent to violate the law and the lack of a clear precedent for initiating a prosecution under similar facts. It also describes how the FBI wrestled with the definition of “gross negligence” — concluding that the term encompassed conduct “so gross as to almost suggest deliberate intention” or “something that falls just short of being willful.”

UN poverty report blasting Trump, US for ‘hatred for the poor’ uses data from last year of Obama’s presidency

A recent United Nations report blasting President Trump and America in general for harboring “contempt” and “hatred for the poor” is based on highly inaccurate data that can’t easily be used to compare the U.S. to other nations.  The U.N. report’s main contentions read like an attack on the Trump administration by the Democratic Party: America has 40 million poor people, including 18.5 million who live in extreme poverty; U.S. policies regarding the poor are “cruel and inhuman;” the Trump tax cuts aren’t working and will worsen inequality; and the U.S. needs to spend less on defense of our nation and more on social programs.

On a real life field of dreams Steve Scalise ‘goes the distance’

No matter what side of the political aisle you’re on, you couldn’t help but root for the team led by House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., when players took to the field for the annual charity baseball game between House Democrats and Republicans this week. The game took place exactly one year to the day after Scalise nearly lost his life when he was shot by a gunman while practicing for last year’s game with his Republican teammates.  Scalise’s journey back to the baseball field over the last year has been nothing short of miraculous. It’s been reminiscent of the movie “Field of Dreams” and the divine voice that whispered “Go the distance.”

Why is the Democrats’ bizarre IT scandal being ignored?

While the focus in Washington, D.C. remains centered on the Mueller Russia probe, we cannot lose sight of another ongoing investigation on Capitol Hill. At the center of this developing scandal are the nefarious actions of a former Democratic congressional IT aide indicted last year on bank fraud charges, who at the time was being paid by a high-profile member of Congress although he was barred from the House computer systems.

The IG Report: They’re Guilty, but It’s Okay

The IG report is really Comey 2.0.  Comey spent a long time describing how Hillary had broken the law but then concluded that it was okay.  Similarly, the IG report lists example after example of political bias but declares that it had no impact on the Hillary email whitewash.

The IG report on the Clinton email investigation is proof positive that the entire DC justice establishment is corrupt; that they view themselves as rulers not public servants.

Sarah Sanders Makes Laura Bush Regret Trump Attack: Your Husband Signed the Law

The complicated legal entanglements regarding illegal immigrants who get caught trying to bring their children to the United States have been reduced, more or less, to two separate sets of opinions: either separating children from their mothers while their cases are adjudicated is a human rights violation like never before or we should enforce the law until the problems with it are fixed by Congress.

Part of the great irony with the first argument is that many of the luminaries speaking out against enforcing what they see as unjust laws are associated with the individuals who passed the laws in the first place.

New holes in Loretta Lynch’s story on the Hillary probe

When former Attorney General Loretta Lynch testified last year about her decision not to prosecute Hillary Clinton for mishandling classified information, she swore she never talked to “anyone” on the Clinton campaign. That categorical denial, though made in response to a series of questions about whether she spoke with Clinton world about remaining attorney general if Hillary won the election, could come back to haunt her.

Franklin Graham Urges Pastors, Christians to Become Political Activists

Franklin Graham is a man on a mission.

“I’m encouraging pastors to become political activists,” the president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan’s Purse said on the Todd Starnes Radio Show.

“I’m not telling them how to vote. I’m not telling them what party to belong to,” Graham said. “Get out there and vote and be a spokesperson for God’s standards and moral issues that we face every day politically.”

David Bossie: State Department says it’ll take 45 to 65 YEARS to get me info on its role in the 2016 election

For years my organization, Citizens United, battled the Obama State Department over dozens of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and lawsuits. It became common knowledge that if you wanted to get information out of the State Department in a timely manner, you had to go to court.

Obama congratulates Putin for election “win”

It would appear that the media had no problem when Obama did it, but makes it a sin if Trump does!

The Russian people and international observers may not see last Sunday’s presidential election in Russia as legitimate, but President Barack Obama has now officially endorsed the return of Russian past and future President Vladimir Putin. “President Obama called Russian President-elect and Prime Minister Putin to congratulate him on his recent victory in the Russian Presidential …

On Friday, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School left-wing activist David Hogg complained that the school’s new policy of making students use only clear backpacks after spring break infringes on his “First Amendment rights.”  Grabien News reported “Hogg appeared Friday at a gun control forum with Axios’s Mike Allen,” where he launched into varying off-topic political tirades, advocating for far-left Democratic positions.
